Bodmin Moor is located a few miles north of Attwood Cottages and offers breathtaking views and historical ancient sites. The unspoilt moorland is perfect for hiking and there is much to see with crystal clear streams, horses and sheep grazing, huge granite boulders, isolated farms and most of all the peace and solitude of this very special area.

There are various tors that can be climbed for some stunning views: Rough Tor's summit is 1312Ft and nearby Brown Willy is a staggering 1375ft and is the highest point in Cornwall.

Colliford Reservoir, on the west side of the moor has fishing and leisure/sport activities managed by the South West Lakes Trust.

The Jamaica Inn pub and museum is worth a visit and was featured in the famous book by Daphne Du Maurier.
