The Camel Trail

This 17 mile route from Bodmin to Padstow is based on an historic railway track. The Camel trail is close to the Camel Estuary and is perfect for cyclists as it’s free of motorised traffic and extremely flat!

The route begins at Bodmin and snakes its way towards the town of Wadebridge. The trail then starts again and runs along beside the river camel. You will find places to stop and rest while taking in the idyllic scenery.

The final leg towards Padstow takes you over an iron bridge that was opened in 1899.

The town of Padstow offers a picturesque harbour with many fine restaurants, pubs and of course fish & chip shops. (you can smell the chips as you cycle down the hill!)

The Camel Trail is a must: Even if you don’t own your own bikes they can be rented at various stages of the trip. For a shorter route you can go from Bodmin to Wadebridge, or just from Wadebridge to Padstow.
